O inglês Roots Manuva andava meio sumido nos últimos anos, mas chegou agora pra abrilhantar e elevar ainda mais o nível sonoro de 2015 com seu novo trabalho que sai pelo selo Big Dadda com distribuíção do Ninja Tune. “Bleeds” é futurístico, assim como Manuva também é! O artista sempre esteve um passo a frente na cena musical urbana inglesa, tendo suas raízes fincadas no hip-hop e dub, porém flertando e colaborando com os novos gêneros que foram surgindo na cena underground de Londres como grime, dubstep e outras vertentes graves.

Este novo álbum talvez seja o seu trabalho mais impactante desde o clássico “Run Come Save Me” lançado em 2001 e que o levou a ser um dos nomes mais respeitados do rap inglês. O álbum tem sonoridade sombria, grave e eletrônica com colaborações de produtores de ponta como Four Tet, Adrian Sherwood, Switch, além do novato beatmaker inglês, ‘Fred’. No decorrer das dez faixas, o rapper preenche os beats com toneladas de rimas e melodias poderosas. Sem dúvida é um disco que ficará no repeat por um bom tempo… Altamente recomendado!

British beatmaker Roots Manuva has been out of the spotlight for a while… until now. He’s with a fresh new work to elevate the sound level of 2015, released by Big Dadda label and distibution by Ninja Tune. Bleeds is futuristic, so as Manuva. The artist is always one step further at the british urban musical scene, rooted in hip-hop and dub but flirting and collaborating with other underground London genres, such as grime, dubstep and other bassy strands.

This album is probably his most impactful work since the classic Run Come Save Me, released in 2001, which led him to be one of the most respected names inside british rap. The new work has a gloomy sonority, grave and electronic, with collabs by top producers such as Four Tet, Adrian Sherwood, Switch and the new british beatmaker Fred. Along the 10 tracks, the rapper fills the beats with tons of rhymes and powerful melodies. It is doubtless an album to be in repeat for a long time… Highly recommended!
