O israelense Ophir Kutiel, musicalmente conhecido como Kutiman é daqueles artistas 1001 utilidades. O cara toca vários instrumentos, é compositor, arranjador, produtor, maestro, engenheiro de áudio e ainda tem a manha de fazer uns vídeos. Depois de focar os últimos anos em seus edits e mash-ups feitos com vídeos do Youtube (sendo inclusive indicado pela revista TIME como das melhores invenções do ano de 2009), o ‘arquiteto do funk psicodélico’, lança agora seu novo trabalho na estréia do seu próprio selo, Siyal Music.

“Space Cassava” é um EP com duas faixas de longa duração e de grooves intensos que mesclam afrobeat, jazz, funk e outras psicodélias sonoras. Como de praxe, Kutiman toca quase tudo: bateria, guitarra, baixo, percussão, teclado e sintetizadores. Só pede ajuda nos sopros, que são otimamente comandado pelos músicos Shlomi Alon, Sefi Zisling Ramirez, Yair Slutzki e Eyal Talmudi. Sente o groove!

Israeli Ophir Kutiel, aka Kutiman, is that kind of artist with 1001 utilities. The guy plays lots of instruments, is also a composer, arranger, producer, conductor, musical engineer and still saves some time to do some videos too. After focusing the last years in edits and mashups made with Youtube videos for his project THRU YOU (nominated by TIME magazine as one of the greatest inventions of 2009), the ‘psychedelic funk architect’ is releasing now a new work for the launch of his own label, Siyal Music. 

Space Cassava is an EP with two long durational tracks and intense grooves with layers of afrobeat, jazz, funk and other psycho sounds. As usual, Kutiman plays almost everything: drums, guitar, bass, percussion, keyboards and synths. He just asks for help when it comes to wind instruments, headed by musicians Shlomi Alon, Sefi Zisling Ramirez, Yair Slutzki and Eyal Talmudi. Feel the groove!
